At Countryside Veterinary Clinic, veterinary assistants support the veterinarian and/or the veterinary technician in their daily tasks. The assistant will be required to educate owners during office appointments, assist in the restraint and handling of animals, complete blood work, administer medications, and may be asked to perform kennel work, and feed and exercise the animals.

Our Veterinary Assistant position includes both working with the veterinarians in appointments AND working in our kennel with our boarding patients.

Open availability is a major plus! YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE WEEKENDS AND SOME HOLIDAYS for short shifts to take care of animals in boarding which is split up between all of our assistant and kennel staff.
Our hours for staff depending on the specific shift you are working :
7:30 am start or 1:30 pm start and we close at 7:00 pm but are often kept until 7:30 pm or later if a client is still at our practice receiving care for their pet. 12-hour shifts are a possibility.
WEEKENDS: Saturdays 7:30 am-2:00 pm (we close at 1:00 pm), and short weekend shifts to take care of the animals in boarding and hospitalized that are about 1 hour or so each shift, every other (or more if able to and wanted) Saturday evening 6:30 pm, Sunday morning 8:30 am, Sunday afternoon 2:00 pm and Sunday 6:30 pm evening. These AM and PM shifts you are worked with a fellow coworker.
Weekdays, Weekends, and Holidays are all involved in working as a veterinary assistant at our hospital but vary based on your scheduled shifts and the hospital's needs. Holidays receive time and a half pay. Weekend and Holiday shifts are usually are about 1-2 hours each to walk, feed, and give treatments to the animals in our boarding facility.
