Dr. Melanie Burgess graduated in 2011 from the Virginia- Maryland College of
Veterinary Medicine. She is a native of Montgomery County and upon
graduation returned to Maryland to practice small animal medicine. Her
professional interests include Radiology (x-ray/ultrasound), internal medicine,
Endocrinology, Dermatology, and small mammal medicine including but not
limited to rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, chinchillas, rats, hamsters, gerbils, and
hedgehogs. Dr. Burgess is fortunate to have been a veterinarian at
Countryside since 2011 and counting! She lives in Ellicott City with her
husband, 2 children, a Boxer mix, a Brittany spaniel, and cat. When she is not
caring for your furry family members, Dr. Burgess can be found walking her
dogs, traveling, hiking or reading. She loves being anywhere near the water
and gets to the beach whenever she can.
